CHURCH ARCHITECTURE OF THE DAY: Riverside Church in NYC

Riverside Church was designed and built in the late 1920s after the Gothic cathedrals at Chartres and Laon.  It’s the tallest church in the United States and has a labyrinth inlaid in the floor.  Riverside Church was founded with the intention of being a force of social justice in its community, has supported LGBT rights since the 70s, and recently performed Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night as part of its theatre community outreach program.
